is a standalone challenge app in the Cue My Heart family. Gameplay takes place on a slot car track, made up of sections of straightaways (no speed limit), curves (moderate speed limit) and corkscrews (low speed limit). A player’s car moves at the speed of their heart intensity – typically from 60% – 90% mapping to 60 to 90 mph. Since heart rate is a lagging indicator of work, a player has to stay aware of upcoming speed limits and adjust their working intensity before reaching a track section in order to maintain a maximum speed without breaking the speed limit, which causes the car to flip off the track.
The object is to cover as much distance as possible in specified time for gameplay. Standard game lengths are 5, 15 or 30 minutes. More distance is covered by a fast moving car, but if a speed limit of any section is exceeded, the car flips off the track, landing on a straightaway that merges into a previous section of track. The flip off penalty distance is around 20% of the distance already covered.
Game play starts with a simple pattern of slow and moderate sections for warmup. Next, medium length section of straightaways are added, and eventually, short duration, complex patterns of all three section types are used.
A player can see the upcoming section along with distance countdown to that section. As gameplay progresses, the flip off penalty distance gets longer, making intensity specificity more important than straightaway speed.
A player’s performance is recorded and can be shared with other players, if desired. Leaderboards are maintained for various groups of players and for each of the preset time intervals.
